Build Your Own Tiki Bar Conference 2025
First Session (Wednesday Afternoon) - What's Your Story?
Before deploying Focal Points, Layering, and Secondary and Tertiary elements to illustrate your story you have to know the story you want to tell. Cannibals, pirates, lost civilizations, mid-mod, or maybe 60's Polyneisian Pop -- whatever your vibe, an exercise in story, setting, and character development provides the creative inspiration for what you want to render in your space.
Second Session (Wednesday Afternoon) - Floors, Walls and Ceilings
Covering the physical aspects of constructing the space from a durable aesthetics perspective. Members will each qualify themselves with a brief presentation of prior work and then rejoin the panel to field questions from the audience on their trials and tribulations as they attempt to formulate their own bars. Presenters will offer insight from personal experiences on what works as well as what doesn't and why. Theme Park experience will be a key component in this one as far as relating to longevity.
Third Session Thursday Morning - What Bartenders Need
This one will also be comprised of multiple panel members who are explaining what it is that they look for when guest-bartending in a space. They will talk about preferred equipment, ergonomics, materials and tools that make their job run smoothly. They will share a couple of recipes and regale with stories of both good and bad experiences in the field.
Fourth Session (Thursday mid-morning) - Light and Sound
Presenting experts in both lighting and sound effects will explain advancements in both as well as how to customize your space into an immersive experience for the two senses that really convey where we are. Sourcing tech will be included along with ample how-to's and conclude with an extensive Q&A.
Fifth Session (Thursday mid-day) - Proper Poly Pieces and Placement
The commercial builders will reconvene to talk about props, carvings, lamp and other accoutrements that bring a tiki bar to that level of completion so sought after by treasure hunters. Presenters will expound on materials used and what the design look parameters are when keeping something in that desired "Polynesian Pop" vibe.
Sixth Session (Thursday Afternoon) - Sourcing and Branding
This wrap-up will give complete lists of suppliers for everything from personalized napkins to bamboo raw materials.
