<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Welcome to Launch Effect v2.17 Lite! Launch Effect Lite lets you create and customize a viral landing page at the click of a few buttons. We&#8217;ve done some housecleaning in version 2.17 with a focus on making the theme more stable and fast. Take a look around to see what&#8217;s new and launch something today!</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re after a full-featured theme that still has the ease of customization and viral linking powers that you&#8217;ve come to love about Launch Effect Lite be sure to check out <a href=" <a href='http://launcheffectapp.com/premium'>http://launcheffectapp.com/premium</a>">Launch Effect Premium</a>!</p>
<p>Please feel free to <a href=" <a href='http://tenderapp.launcheffect.com'>http://tenderapp.launcheffect.com</a>">contact us at our support forums</a> if you have questions about setup or are experiencing any issues with the theme.</p>
<h3>Setup in Three Easy Steps</h3>
<h4>Step 1 &mdash; Set Your Launch Page as your Homepage</h4>
<p>Go to <strong>Settings &gt; Reading</strong>.<br />
Where it says, &#8220;Front page displays,&#8221; choose &#8220;A static page,&#8221; and select &#8220;Sign-Up&#8221; from the dropdown menu. When you refresh this page, it will disappear and your launch page will appear instead.</p>
<h4>Step 2 &mdash; Set Permalinks</h4>
<p>Go to <strong>Settings &gt; Permalinks</strong>.<br />
Select any options besides default. If your .htaccess file is not writable, instructions from WordPress will appear in a grey box below the &#8220;Save Changes&#8221; button for how you should set the rules manually.</p>
<h4>Step 3 &mdash; Start Designing!</h4>
<p>Go to <strong>Launch Effect &gt; Designer</strong>.<br />
Now for the fun part! The Designer is now divided into three sections: Global Styles, Sign-Up Page, and Theme (premium only). That submenu is located directly under the giant Designer/Integrations/Stats tabs. The best way to get started here is to just start playing around and gaining an understanding of what selections affect which parts of the design. Good luck!</p>

<p>Welcome to The Hukilau 2012 Commemorative Merchandise Page.  These items are available for a limited time only so don&#8217;t delay in purchasing.  We have set aside a particular number of mugs to sell online and then those to send to the event.</p>
<p>The Hukilau 2012 Commemorative Mug was created and manufactured by Tiki Diablo aka Danny Gillardo.  Danny and I talked about basing on some of Milan Guanko designs and he knew that the elements of Guanko&#8217;s signature features was something that was important to me.  He sent me a picture of a tiki from carver Richard Ellis for the Tradewinds Restaurant in Oxnard, CA.  This Tiki had everything I wanted and more.  Danny has done an amazing job!</p>
<p><strong>Please remember when purchasing this mug if you are not coming to the event the mugs will be sent AFTER the event.</strong>  The event ends on 4/22/12, therefore mugs will not begin shipping until 4/26/12.  If you have any questions about shipping please email Tiki Kiliki.</p>
<p><strong>If you are picking up your mugs at the event</strong>, please select &#8220;Mug &#8211; Pickup Only&#8221; and enter your desired quantity in the cart.</p>
<p>Mugs are sold in numerical order beginning with number 5.  Again, if there are any questions about purchasing the mug please email Tiki Kiliki and let us know prior to purchasing.  Thank you for your support!</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><em>The Golden Age of Tiki Archeology: Unpublished Images from the Sven Kirsten Archive.</em> Sven Kirsten is the author of the “Book of Tiki”, widely acknowledged as the bible of the style, and “Tiki Modern”, which further explores Tiki style’s relation to mid-century modernism. In 2010 he published his first music compilation, “The Sound of Tiki”, a CD album with a 50 page booklet putting the songs into context with Tiki culture, to be enjoyed in conjunction with his books. Besides lecturing on Tiki culture and style, Sven also advises on new Tiki restaurants being built, curates Tiki exhibitions, and designs Tiki mugs. He was recently featured talking about Tiki on the CBS Sunday Morning show.</p>
<div>In this very special symposium Sven will dig deeply into his archive to share previously un-published 35mm slide images of now lost Tiki temples like the Kahiki, “The Tikis” theme park and Tikied-out apartment complexes up and down the West coast, taken as early as 1992 to the 2000s.  Sven will happily sign your copy of Book of Tiki and Tiki Modern after his presentation!</div>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Exotik-a-GoGo</strong><em> </em>melds the lush tones of 50’s exotica with the chic arrangements of bachelor-pad LPs. We add subtle shades of cool jazz, tropical beats, and symphonic sensibilities. A healthy dose of bird calls and ape screams sets the mood. And it’s all toward one mighty goal: <em>Escape</em>. If it’s fantasy and fantastic, we’re there and we want you with us. Experience Exotik-a-GoGo at Psycho Suzi’s in Minneapolis every Friday and Saturday night, where listeners savor a sweet liqueur of drums, congas, bongos, gongs, zils, shakers, bass, piano, guitar, vibraphone, Theremin, flute, piccolo, saxophone, the Turkish bag lama, and on occasion, the world’s one-and-only Pachyphonium. Exotik-a-GoGo’s first CD, <em>Go Ape! </em>was released in August, 2011.</p>
<p>Exotik-A-GoGo is: Craig Gallas, Vince Hyman, Bob Ekstrand, Chris Johnson, &amp; Tom Cravens, with an ever changing mix of Kent Militzer, Andy Nelson, Dave Wynne, Jim Ouska, Clint Hoover, &amp; Joe Luoma.</p>

<p><strong>The Martian Denny Orchestra</strong> delivers the wild instrumental sounds of The Ventures / Santo &amp; Johnny / Rockin&#8217; Rebels / Duane Eddy / Johnny &amp; the Hurricanes and many, many others!</p>
<p>As John Sebastian noted in the Lovin&#8217; Spoonful&#8217;s &#8220;Nashville Cats,&#8221; there are &#8220;13 hundred and 52 guitar pickers in Nashville.&#8221; And it&#8217;s pretty much unanimous that nearly every one of &#8216;em would love to be playing in the Martian Denny Orchestra, whose blend of surf, spy and space sounds is quickly becoming an underground sensation in Music City.</p>
<p>The pedigree of Martian Denny&#8217;s Nashville members is impeccable. Guitarist Eddie Angel shakes up the world of indie-rock with Los Straitjackets and the Planet Rockers. Guitarist Bob Irwin, the man behind famed reissue label Sundazed Music, is the fretboard whiz of New York&#8217;s Pluto Walkers. Dave Roe played bass for Johnny Cash and works the same magic for John Mellencamp and many others. Jim Hoke plays steel guitar and woodwinds for NRBQ, Toby Keith and others. The rock-solid beat comes courtesy of the mighty Jimmy Lester, the original skinsman of Los Straitjackets and now with Webb Wilder&#8217;s honky tonk hellions.</p>
<p>&#8220;Where else can you hear such dead-on, reverential treatment of instro classics by Duane Eddy, the Ventures, the Rockin&#8217; Rebels and Santo &amp; Johnny?&#8221; asks Irwin. Five minutes with the Martian Denny Orchestra makes one thing perfectly clear: the band fires 40-footer after 40-footer and hits nothing but net—every time!</p>
