Hukilau 2007 Limited Edition Munktiki Mug
May 04, 2007 03:32 PM
Hukilau 2007
Munktiki Mug
In Hukilau's continued effort to preserve the past, this years mug is a design in honor of the Mai Kai's early years. At the request of Tiki Kiliki, Paul from Munktiki used the Cannibal Tikis which were so dominant in Mai Kai's marketing from the beginning. The Cannibals were used in magazine ads, on the cover of their dinner and drink menus in 1956 and 1957, on coasters, napkins, matchbooks and swizzles. For several years Donn Beach's cannibal tikis peered proudly atop the Mai Kai sign illuminated by the gas torches each evening. They were removed in the late 60's and are now stored in the Mai Kai's warehouse.
Hukilau 2007 Munktiki Mug - Limited Edition of 300 All mugs
will be sold in numerical order beginning with #11 - you will be notified via
email with the number/numbers you have ordered. Each mug is priced at $65 + shipping / limit 2 per person The mug holds 4 cups and is 5 3/4 tall and 4 1/2 inches wide.

Announcing Hukilau 2007!
January 24, 2007 12:09 AM
Aloha and welcome to Hukilau 2007 — a little bit of Polynesia in America’s Vacationland! Come join us for four days of intoxicating tunes, tiki treasures from around the globe, exotic education and once again — a magical evening at the historic Mai Kai among other dazzling events and experiences.
We are so very pleased to announce that Mr. Robert Drasnin will once again be joining us at Hukilau — he will perform his latest release, Voodoo II, live for the very first time during our Friday night main event accompanied by some of today’s most talented exotica musicians — this is a follow-up to his mesmerizing performance at Hukilau 2005. Visit the Music page for more details. And equally as exciting — the Bum is back by popular demand! Jeff ‘Beachbum’ Berry will enlighten us all with a seminar and the debut of his new book, “Sippin’ Safari.” Be the first to get your copy and have it signed by the Bum himself and be one of the lucky ones that sip on some of the new recipes! Visit Special Guests and the Schedule for more details. This year’s Hukilau also presents a line-up of many “first-time” (or “virgin”) performers and special guests we are so anxious to share with the tiki community:
Be sure to visit this page for updates about the east coast’s largest tiki event! We look forward to seeing you June 14-17th! Aloha and Mahalo!
