Kevin Kidney & Jody Daily
Best known among tiki elite as the creators of "Miehana, God of the Orange Grove," Los Angeles artists Kevin Kidney and Jody Daily are happy to try anything in the name of art. Their prodigious output so far includes painting, sculpture, ceramics, storybook illustration, scenic design, graphic art, animation, puppetry, writing and art preservation. Their 1996 Anaheim Museum exhibit "Tiki: Native Drums in the Orange Grove" was influential on the growing awareness of "Polynesian Pop" style and it's renewed popularity.

For the Walt Disney Company, they have designed theme-park environments, parades, and merchandise and worked in such far-flung locales as Japan, Borneo, Australia and China. In 2005 Kevin and Jody received national attention and acclaim for more than 200 items they created to mark Disneyland's 50th Anniversary.

"Tiki Lands in a Disney World" - $12 charge limited to 125 people Buy Tickets Now!

So...can YOU recite Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room show by heart? For many of us, Walt Disney's unique take on Polynesian-style offered our budding imaginations a first glimpse into glittering exotic worlds. Generations of Americans who otherwise might not have had the means (or intrepidity) to venture beyond the comforts of civilization could experience the "adventurelands" of Disney's own design, first in California and then in Orlando, Florida.

Former Disney artists and urban archeologists Kevin Kidney and Jody Daily will treat you to a colorful, nostalgic look at the inspiration and design of Florida's Disney-Tiki legacy. Tour the groovy splendor of Walt Disney World's original Polynesian Village, as designed by Welton Beckett and Associates. Wonder anew at the technological miracle of talking birds and chanting tikis in the 1970s Tropical Serenade show. Swoon to the lilting music in Luau Cove...and learn more about the Florida Orange Bird than you ever thought possible.
